Yes. There is a possibility.
Causes Of Syphilis
A bacterium called treponema pallidum causes syphilis. It spreads from one person to another by any type of sexual contact. The bacteria pass when there is an open sore on any part of the contact. Any sexual activity that brings another person in contact with the open sore will pass on the syphilis. The main transmission therefore occurs during anal, vaginal or oral sexual activity. A mother can pass on syphilis to her baby. Syphilis does not spread by sharing toilet seats, clothing, utensils, or swimming pools. Read on about the phases of syphilis to understand how the open sores form and how the disease goes into latency without sores for a long time.
Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacterium called neisseria gonorrhoea. It is passed on by sexual contact with an infected person. The sexual contact can be of any type. The bacterium passes to the partner if the secretions of the affected genital or anus come in contact with mucous membrane of the partner. Gonorrhea can affect the genitals of both the sexes, the anus and the mouth. Eyes can also be infected if bacteria are passed on to eyes by hand contact. A mother can pass on gonorrhea to her baby. Shaking hands cannot pass on gonorrhea. If anybody once treated for gonorrhea, comes in contact with infection again, he/she may get re-infected.

They can. If a person had both STDs and has sex with someone then that person could definitely get both of those STDs.
I personally got two STDs at the same time from the same guy, (although they were not syphilis or gonorrhea), but, it can definitely happen.
At least they are both bacterial STDs and can be cured with antibiotics. Viral STDs such as herpes, HPV, HIV, and hepatitis are not curable.

yes, they can occur together. gonnorhoea can be asymptomatic as well a syphillis and are treated by giving the patient ceftriaxone - an antibiotic. gonorrhoea can have major implications on the individual such as arthritis and endocarditis ad heamorrhagic papules and on the baby it can cause conjunctivitis. syphillis on the other hand can have more serious complications and on the baby it can be fatal if untreated, but is treated by the old trustworthy penicillin. thus, be careful not to contract either of the std's and if one thinks that one may have it - see a dr for treatment.

Let's say that you encounter each disease in 1 in a 1000 people. The chances of finding two diseases in the same person are 1 in a million.
