I've used ALDARA for about 3 weeks now and things are starting to clear up. I am so thankful for that!
I had an area that was very bad, and now it's totally cleared up but I noticed that there is scarring and the skin is not as it was before the genital warts.
It's only been clear for a day or so, will it go back to normal with time? Or will I be left with some scarring?

---I know it will probably vary from person to person but I'd like to hear from people who know about it, or have dealt with it--

It's possible to have a little scarring or darkening of the skin. It may go away in a few days or it may not.

I personally had genital warts about 8 months ago and also used Aldara cream. My warts finally went away after using it about 4 weeks. It didn't leave any scars or darkening of the skin.

Hopefully it will go away in a week or so when the warts have completely disappeared. Good luck to you!

When I was 17 i had some and they used this acid stuff and after a few days they were gone. I had a tiny bit of discolor but that went a way and have no scars at all. It probably depends on how big or small the warts were, mine were very tiny. I would put cocoa butter on it everyday that could help, unless you picked at them I think they scarring will go away!

With proper treatment, genital wart outbreaks of usually can be controlled. However, the warts frequently reappear after treatment. Even after you have been treated for HPV, you may still infect others. At least 70 types of HPV have been identified, several of which have been linked to cervical and vulvar cancer. The warts may become numerous and quite large, requiring more extensive treatment and follow-up procedures.

1. The 1st think to realise is that once you have the HP Virus it can and probab;y will re occur from time to time. 2. freezing is the least likely to scar depending on the skill of the applicator. 3. For an old fashioned way try the white milk of a thistle plant applied morning and night. 50 years ago it healed warts entirely and often for good.
