Absolutely.

Cold sores are mainly spread through kissing someone with cold sores. No sex involved. I've read up to 80% of the world has cold sores (herpes simplex virus 1).

Genital herpes (herpes simplex virus 2) is mainly passed through sexual activity, like sexual intercourse and oral sex. It can be passed to an infant through birth though. This happens when the mother is having an outbreak and when the child is going through the birth canal they can contract herpes. I've read this happens in less then 1% of babies born to mothers with herpes though, so, it's very unlikely.

And, believe it or not, chickenpox and shingles are a form of herpes. So, if you have ever had the chickenpox or shingles you have had a form of herpes. Chicken pox is herpes simplex virus 3.

Yep it is...herpes transmission happens when you come in contact with the virus. This can happen with or without sex...intimate contact can cause transmission. And yes, you can give/get herpes without having a current breakout. Checkout Web MD and get all the info you need. A person with herpes can be sexually active but must be cautious. And if you have herpes you should inform your partner prior to being intimate.

Yes, you can. Herpes is spread by direct skin to skin contact. Unlike a flu virus that you can get through the air, herpes spreads by direct contact, that is, directly from the site of infection to the site of contact. For example, if you have a cold sore and kiss someone, you can transfer the virus to their mouth. Similarly, if you have active genital herpes and have vaginal or anal intercourse, you can give your partner genital herpes. Finally, if you have a cold sore and put your mouth on your partners genitals (oral sex), you can give your partner genital herpes.

These sites should give you more information. I hope this helps.

it is attainable to have the oral sort of herpes devoid of having intercourse, chilly sores are led to by utilising the oral herpes virus it is hardly led to by utilising genital herpes. they are often surpassed for the duration of baby hood by utilising being innocently kissed on or around the mouth by utilising some one that has chilly sores. there is even a small possibility of passing them by utilising sharing cups or utensils with some one that has chilly sores. Herpes isn't surpassed from parent to baby by genetics. they are very person-friendly to have and not something considerable to fret over. yet they are contagious mutually as you have a visual chilly sore so do no longer kiss or supply every physique oral intercourse until eventually you're chilly sore is long gone.

You get to touch mucous membrane or skin cut with infected membrane or fluid to get herpes. Having sex has nothing much to do with that. Oral sex, kissing can spread herpes.

Genital herpes is caused by herpes virus- HSV. HSV are of two types- HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 causes more of oral herpes and HSV 2 causes more of genital herpes. But HSV1 can also affect the genital area and cause herpes. Genital herpes is contacted by sexual contact. Anybody who has genital herpes can pass on the virus to his/her partner through a cut in the skin or mucous membrane. If somebody has cold sores and performs oral sex, he/she can also transmit the virus and cause genital herpes in partner.

Once the virus enters the body, it multiplies rapidly. The herpes virus remains in the body and may either be active or inactive. During the active period, the virus travels to the genital area and causes sores. During inactive period, it remains dormant in the body. When genital herpes is contacted, virus shows up in the first episode of herpes and after that goes in to sleeping mode to recur again.

Of course! Even if the person has no symptoms, but are carriers of Herpes, you can contract it.

Touching, rubbing, licking, kissing... basically anything fun can cause transmission.

Your best bet is either find a partner who is a virgin, or risk it all.
