Did you ever feel depressed about your partner's lack of understanding you as a vegetarian?

There have been times that I have been upset about him not understanding. But, I don't make it an issue anymore and I don't 'push' my choices on to him. He can continue eating meat and I'll continue being a vegetarian. He doesn't have to completely understand because I don't really understand why he continues to like meat. You don't have to understand, but you need to respect each other.

Try to educate your partner, but don't push the issue. Just ask him/her to respect your choices.

I have never dated a vegetarian guy, but all the meat-eaters I've dated have been very understanding. My current boyfriend eats very little meat since we've been together but I don't foresee him giving it up entirely. I don't bother him about it and he doesn't question my eating habits either. He knows that when I'm cooking it's going to be veg but that he's free to cook his own meat to add to whatever's on the menu. He rarely does and he even raves about a few of his favorite veg dishes to his friends.

I wouldn't worry about what a meat eater thought. Just the fact that they eat meat lets you know your dealing with someone who has no morals.

I personally suggest that you date other vegetarians/vegans. This way, you can find good people.

My partner is a vegetarian too. He became one when we started going out, so I don't have those difficulties. Both my children are veggies too. It's much easier that way!

Nope, he's entitled to eat what he chooses just as I am entitled to eat what I choose. I do make him buy meat if he wants to cook it at home. I don't even want that in my grocery cart next to all my yummy fruits and veggies.
