To my great dismay and ignorance I gave my partner Herpes via oral sex with an apparent "early" lip lesion (HSV-1). I am devastated. Is it possible for her to infect my genital area with my own HSV???

Yes...if she has an active strain on her lip, mouth, etc...and she gives you oral sex, then yes it is possible to transmit it to your genital area. Likewise, if she has genital herpes, and you have intercourse with her, then yes she can spread the same strain to your genital area as well.

Yes it is possible for you to get HSV1 Oral Herpes in the fashion you described.

Please check the link that I posted, it is a very good source of information about Herpes, tramsmission, the percent age rate for transmission between a female and a male, and ways to protect yourself. Good luck

yeah. poetic justice to the phrase, what goes around, comes around. it's very contagious in its active stage, esp when there are skin eruptions and vesicles filled with secretions.
avoid sex during this sensitive stage but if you must, wearing a condom is advisable.
