well let me answer your question with a yes ....and a no. Yes you could have been infected 3 years ago and not really shown any signs or symptoms. You still were infected. It would be odd that you wouldn't see any s/s for 3 years but its possible.

you can have it and never show any symptoms at all and as long as you have it it stays unless you go get meds for it it could also cause complications with getting pregnant if you have had for to long

yes it could take years to show if you think you are at risk go to your local health department and get checked ot better safe than sorry. my opion?

it could be several yrs since there is no tell tale sign of it, until you get tested.
