I love meat. Lamb in particular. Having said that, red meat is not that great for you and contains some fatty stuff that can clog arteries over time, with enough consumption.

Many veggi lovers refuse meat for the health benefits, rather than the moral dilemmas. This is often why you will hear of Vegetarians who also consume fish and Shellfish (clam, shrimp etc). Because seafood (when NOT battered and deep fried) is really packed with a lot of good stuff for your body. YUM!

You have to give them credit where credit is due, that is some pretty hard dedication. I'm sure life would be a lot easier for many vegans by eating meat. It must be really annoying to have to constantly check packaging and menus for something edible.

As for me, I'll eat the steak and just feel guilty while doing it. Darn meat...so tasty! :P

I love to eat steak. But I've also seen many videos on the slaughter of cattle. I am no PETA fanatic, but it's pretty gruesome stuff. I believe all people who eat meat should at least view these videos so they know the reality of where it comes from and the way they die. I know after I watched some of them I couldn't eat it for a couple of weeks.
Like I said, I still love steak but I think I view it with more respect for the animal and never waste any of it.

It's a personal choice and personal preference. I have seen many animalas slaughtered and the whole process of them being cut up so they get in our plates. It is not pretty trust me. I was very little when I was exposed to these sort of views and grossed me. Besides, I don't like the way it tastes, although it's probably mental, I could not put a bloody flesh in my mouth. And also, a steak may be good to you, but this doesn't mean it tastes good to everyone.People like different things. For example, I love cottage cheese and pickles, and I could ask the same thing my husband let's say, (who is a meat-eater and hates both cottage cheese and pickles), how could he pass up them..

My husband had killed animals for food on the farm. His impression is that heads look better on the animal than covered in blood in the dirt, disconnected from the body. The steak by itself probably looks fine, getting it from the cow is like a real live, up close slasher movie where the animal "is harmed in the making of this picture."

I am a Carolina woman too. I was raised on animals that we killed ourselves like pigs we shot in the head and chickens we(ring their necks) cows we sliced on lots of tables at grandmas farm. I will not and have not ate meat since i grew up and had a choice. Every time i try to eat meat i gag. I actually like vegetarian food. You can't convince me that animals have no feelings/pain. veggies good-meat bad.

Some of us have made the decision to give up meat and we all have our own personal reasons. If you don't want to pass up a good steak, that's your business. I won't judge you for it, but I expect the same consideration from you.

There is nothing wrong with someone eating meat, its their decision, but you have to respect others decision not to eat.

I think its easy to pass up a steak: i chewing meat it feels gross, and the taste isn't that great either.

Vegetarianism is better for the environment, your health, and the rights of animals (no living thing deserves to be treated so horribly). It's the diet of the compasionate and thinkers.
