interferon is a man made substance that mimicks what your body already has....interferon could be deadly to certain hcv populations-those with end stage liver disease.

other than that, the only other side effect of interferon would be toxicity, which might alter your moods...but, there are medications to counteract with this.

interferon and ribavirin are the two standard medications to treat...

many thinks its a bad thing to try because of the side effects, but in reality, there are side effects from anything you take.

i did a 48 week course of three antiviral meds for hcv...the only thing that could of cost me my life on the medications was psychosis. (i only had 3 months left when it hit). There are meds for this issue.

As far as going to school GREAT! As for gym? Not good. I don't think you'd be able to keep up with the class...interferon makes you tired.

If you can, when you start, you will do your shot on a day that proceeds a couple of days off. That way if you have any problems, you have two days to rest.

It's not that bad! Don't let others scare you into thinking otherwise.

If you have ever had the flu, chances are that would be the worst it would get....flu like symptoms...and they don't last the entire time......

now, if you have a disease like lyme or something else going on, the treatment would probably not be a good thing.

Stay positive, read up on all you can and you will do JUST FINE!

well, you have to consider this, hep c is a very aggressive and deadly disease, and without aggressive treatment, it can make a person terminally ill within a matter of months or at most a couple years

antiviral chemotherapy is really rough, it's really no picnic, but you need to reduce your viral load as soon as possible to ensure the least damage to your liver as quickly as possible. Some rough times now can give you years of life later on. If you don't treat it aggressively now, you'll just become terminally sick all that much quicker.
