The medical term for high blood pressure is hypertension. Hypertension is a serious problem for a lot of people, especially in the United States, in people who are 10 or more pounds overweight, and in people 50 and older. However, a plenty of young and otherwise healthy people also suffer from high blood pressure. Because having a high blood pressure increases your risk of heart disease, heart attack, and strokes, it is not to be taken lightly.
