The word "English" and "cuisine" should never be used in a sentence unless there is an "is not" in between.

Will have foods from other countries by choice over english. Our food here seems to have lost imagination no matter what tv chets say. Just the slightest addition of herbs and spices and mix of the vegetables in say an oriental dish is totally inspiring and wakes up a dull palate. I have been fortunate to try foods from usa, australia and asia and would say far superior in mixing and putting together different food groups than the uk.

I'm American, but my family is English and I grew up eating traditional English foods. Stuff like bangers & mash, cottage pie, bubble & squeak, a good roast with butter parsley potatoes, homemade mustard pickle, mince pie, eccles, trifle and of course, fish & chips. I love all of it, and and never understood the bad rep this food has. Maybe it started after WWII when there was rationing and food wasn't good quality? If you make these recipies with quality ingredients they are wonderful.

I agree with Chris. I am not English but I think English food can be very good, providing excellent ingredients are used and cooked carefully, skilfully and lovingly. English food itself shouldn't get all the blame. It is the lack of respect to food by some of the people cooking them that deserves to be blamed.

I prefer many Eastern and European foods over a lot of our American cuisine, though I couldn't live without Freedom Fries some times...

To me English Food is foreign!
Where's the Scotch pies, the white pudding, the Irn Bru, the patties, the bridies to name but a few.
Aye and your beer's not too grand either!

Being Scottish i would fall into the category of Forgien Food in your book. But on the bigger picture i do prefer a good hearty BRITISH roast or steak and ale pie

It seems that whenever my family goes out to eat, we are never eating regular American food. We always seem to prefer to go Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Lebonese, and several different ethnic foods. I like the variety of spices, and flavors.. American food is pretty blan, but a good cheesburger and fries has it's place as well.
