If chlamydia is detected and treated relatively soon a man should have no problems with his sperm and producing a baby.
If it left untreated the infection sometimes spreads to the epididymis (a tube that carries sperm from the testis), causing pain, fever, and, rarely, sterility. Rarely, genital chlamydial infection can cause arthritis that can be accompanied by skin lesions and inflammation of the eye and urethra (Reiter's syndrome).
I've also read that 1/2 of men who have chlamydia have no symptoms at all; others have symptoms so mild they aren't noticeable. So, if you think you have chlamydia it would be a really good idea to get tested for it. It's a bacterial infection, so it easily goes away with antibiotics.

Chlaymidia is a tricky disease. It can be present for years without you knowing that it's even there. Men, often have no symptoms while women will have symptoms that something else could cause. If chlamidia is present, the chance of miscarriage is huge. Damage from Chlaymidia can cause permanent reproductive failure only if left untreated for years. If you say that it was caught 'in time' then I would think you have nothing to worry about.

Chlamydia does not normally affect your sperm.
Facts
* If Chlamydia is not treated, it can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease in women. This is an infection of the reproductive organs of women and can lead to infertility.
* Reiter's Syndrome may be caused by untreated chlamydia. This syndrome causes three seemingly unrelated problems- urinary tract problems, arthritis and redness in the eyes.
* People who get infected with chlamydia are many times also infected with gonorrhea.
