It's a fruit. We accidentally cross pollinated a Punkermelon at the farm a couple years ago! Yeah, it was 1/2 pumpkin, 1/2 watermelon. Funniest thing ya ever saw!

A pumpkin is the swollen receptacle of a pumpkin flower, so technically that makes it a "simple fruit", (just like tomatoes are).

A great number of the plants most people think of as vegetables are actually fruits.

I was told that anything with seeds is a fruit, that's why a tomato is a fruit. Therefore pumpkin is a fruit.

Pumpkins are fruit.
Pumpkins are used to make soups, pies and breads which are delicious and high in vitamin A.

I've always heard if it has seeds its a fruit... but cucumbers have seeds and I think they are veggies.
