If neither person has herpes can they contract it from eachother?

Nope. You have to have herpes in order to pass it. If you or your partner do not have herpes you will NOT be able to pass it to one another.

If neither person has herpes, they cant contact it from each other. There's nothing to contact. There is a possibility that one of the partners could have herpes and it is just "dormant" all the time. Therefore, there would be no symptoms...so no reason to worry right? Well that's not true. Just because there are no symptoms, doesnt mean that someone doesnt have the virus, lets say if your partner were to have the herpes virus, even though there are no symptoms if he/she were to "shed" the virus, it is possible that you could contact it while intimate. It's also possible that someone could have the virus for even 20 years or more and never know it, then one day something could trigger an outbreak... such as stress or something of that nature.

99% of people are born with the herpes virus. It is passed on to us by our mothers.
