I would think that it really depends on your overall physical well being and what type of surgery that you had. It usually takes about six weeks to get general anesthesia completely and totally out of your system, so if you had complications on top of that, it could probably be as long as 3-6 months.

It really depends on the type of surgery and the person. If you are concerned you can talk to the nurses in the sicu or dr.
I had open heart surgery and it took me about 2 weeks to not feel like I had been ran over by a truck.
But I have a friend who is milking her hysterectomy for every thing she can get out of it. After 3 weeks she still has people waiting on her hand and foot.
