I can understand why some people don't wanna eat meat. But drinking milk won't kill any animals. Some cows can't survive if we don't milk them! And don't tell me the nutritional reasons for avoiding diary either. Yes milk has some saturated fat but I'm sure that organic whole milk is better for u than conventional milk of any fat level. And yogurt is a nice low fat diary option that helps u lose weight and puts good bacteria into your system.

Google in "diary cows" and you'll really find that some breeds will die if they don't get milked.

And organic cows are much better treated than the conventional cows. And lots of eggs out there are cage free and animal care certified. So organic milk and eggs shouldn't be that damaging to the environment.

Cows really do risk getting infected if they're not milked. If you want to boycott factory farms, that's what ORGANIC is for.

cows are mammals, and they, just like us, produce milk only when they have babies. the milk is for baby calves, not us, and they certainly will not die if we don't milk them. "dairy cows" are just a name given to cows that humans repeatedly impregnate and take their calves away, so yes we do need to milk them, but it's our own fault and it would be quite easy to stop. by the way the terms "organic" and "free range" are a bunch of crap.

contrary to popular belief animals not used for meat DO get hurt too now im not gonna go into details but most of the cows that r used for milk are drugged so they will produce milk faster and egg laying hens are arguably the most abused animals on this green earth i can honestly say that being a vegan for the past 4 years has made me feel great

There is no logical answer for that ... one we as a species and biology need meat and protien to survive. Yes plants can give this ... using a reason as being enviromental friendly mmmm your eating everything that makes oxygen ... and last time I checked ... mmm thats what we breath. Um use the statement for calories ... have yer steaks cut correctly ... no fat, and very little calories ... mmmm cows ... they produce milk if there is a calf in the herd ... always amazed me why they did this ... but they do ... so mmmm drinking milk doesn't endanger calves ... mmm ... vegies are good ... but unless you wanna spend a lot of money for a complete diet that is good for you ... vegie diet, just like a no carb diet have been proven bad for you ... yes .. you will live ... but not the way that you should and you won't feel the way you should. If you wanna lose weight ... go see your local doctor and go from there ... some peeps might have to eat vegies for a while to clear their system ... but a no protien diet is mmm ... pretty retarded if you keep at it ... we are built on protiens

Drinking milk in America-supports factory farming and slaughter of calves for veal.
Cows can't survive if we don't milk them- I hope you are joking. They lactate because we get them pregnate and then take their babies away. They don't need to be milked, they just need to be able to provide their young with milk.
Yogurt- yogurt alone does not help one lose weight. There are also other ways to get good bacteria into your system.
I do not think everyone should be vegan. It is right for some people, but it is not something everyone wants to do. I have noticed, however, that meat eaters can be really mean about vegan and vegetarian diets. What's your problem?

Some vegans feel as if raising animals uses too many of earth's resources unlike plants which often enhance the earth and use less resources. Another reason is to avoid chemicals and hormones used in factory farming. I think these are some logical reasons.

It's the healthiest diet out there. It's basically God's diet. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and seeds. No animals or animal products. That's one of the reasons why people in the Biblical times lived to be over 900 years old. Then, as meat got introduced into the diet, the life span began to go down. So that's why people become vegan. Either they want to be more healthy, or they want to follow God's example.

Vegetarians, as a whole, do not eat red meat. Some also choose to exclude poultry (pollo-veg) and/or seafood (pesco-veg). Because chicken and fish are indeed meat, it's debatable whether most would call it vegetarianism, but they are accepted forms.

Many veg's, in additon to actual flesh, eliminate non-meat animal products like gelatin and caesin. It varies a lot, though.

Drop all meat, but eat eggs and dairy, you're "lacto-ovo-vegetarian"
Drop all dairy products, and eat eggs, you're "ovo-vegetarian"
Drop eggs in all forms, but consume dairy, you're "lacto-vegetarian"

No eggs OR dairy, plus, no non-meat animal products, including honey, and you're, by definition, "vegan".

Go even further, and eat only plants and plant products (nothing grown with bacteria), and you're "macrobiotic" *please note, some macrobiotics DO eat meat. There's more to the philosophy than being non-meat-eaters. So, it's not technically a form of vegetarianism*

Vow not to cook your food, or do anything but pick and eat, and you're "raw-vegan", "raw-macrobiotic", or just "raw".

SO, to answer your question, there are, in fact, EIGHT forms af vegetarianism. (macro's don't count) pollo, pesco, pollo-pesco, ovo, lacto, lacto-ovo, vegan, and raw.

Vegan is healthier, has less calories than meat, and less fats, besides more animals would be saved and that would be better for the food chain serving the environment, and all our vitamins and minerals are really in plants.
