Back in the olden days they would put them in a root cellar where it was dry and cool, the best way today is to put them in a brown paper bag and store in a cool dry place of your home not the fridge.

By storing it in a Zip-lock bag or a seal-up container because it will keep your carrots and other foods fresh.

In the bag that they came in. I keep them in the fruit and vegetable drawer. They've never gotten any black spots on them.

Bury them under about 3 or 4 inches of light, sandy soil. If you cannot do that make sure they are kept in the dark (and I don't mean that you shouldn't talk to them - in the dark - Get it?)
