The reason most people think this is......everytime on the news here where I live (detroit) most of the crimes are commited by the black community.

Most of the music video's produced by the black community shows a glorified thug life, with chicks just dripping off of their arms.

I have a better question: Why do most black people allow themselves to thought of as gang bangers/thieves? Why do you perpetuate the image, then complain when society judges you by the way you look.

And by the way......all people are judged by the way they look. Blacks, White, Chinese, Arab......etc.

Because that's the picture that's presented to them. On the news, in the media (videos, tv shows, advertising etc) the most popularized songs and the low income areas that keep the sterotype alive. The white race has people doing the exact same things, they just aren't bragging about it. The heads of the drug trades are not black. The big money swindlers, embezzelers, tax evaders, big business scammers and identity theft pros are usually white. They just do their dirt quietly and on the low and then stand around like Mr. and Mrs. Goodness. All races have people in them that are doing illegal and improper things. All races have people that are doing good and upstanding things. Don't judge, just make sure you know what you're doing.

Dont be angry Dwayne...The media used to portray black men as being criminals by showing news stories EVERY TIME a black man commited a crime..But meanwhile all these white teems kill their parents and shoot up schools--and whites will blame it on abuse or videogames...

Dont get so caught up in WHAT PEOPLE THINK..Life is too short, and all you can do is be a child of God, Pray, do the right thing, and be the best person you can be..Anger is a disease, and you will waste your life on bitterness and rage if you dont let this go..so,,LET IT GO and Be happy..Count your blessings--60 years ago black men were lynched--now you are free for teh most part. Be thankful for what you HAVE.

I am 43 yrs old, live in a mid sized city, lived in all areas within that city, and have NEVER heard any "white" people ever mention that idea!! I'm not defending the white people, but never heard them say that! I'm white, but don't have anything against anybody that is NOT white.I have people of all races as very good friends!! But on the same token, there are ALOT of people, including whites, that are definatly living up to their specific stereotypes!!

i would hope people didnt think that about all black people!!!! I am white, and one of my bests friends is black. there are white gang bangers and black gang bangers it just depends on the person not the color. And its to bad the black people are stero typed.

I don't think I've ever heard a white person say that, but I would think that if some do feel that way they probably don't know any black people personally. Maybe they spend all day watching rap videos or something. Who knows.
