There is no indoor pool here where I live. The only outdoor one is loaded with kids wall to wall and opens at the hottest part of the day.and usually the time I cannot fight a nap anymore. The only time I get to swim is when I go camping.

...water exercise. Slow and gentle. No impact, and it works with all muscles. Is your low thyroid corrected? I corrected my with medicine, and the pounds are falling off. Your DR's professional guidance should help you with the rest. Good luck

Buy some yoga videos, but that would probably not be successful. You are going to find an excuse not to exercise, which is easiest to do while you are at home.

I agree with the above advice to get with a physical therapist, and by trial and error, the two of you can figure out an exercise regimen that you can do. I would suggest you join a gym, because if you have paid, and gotten in the car and driven down there, it is hard to not exercise once you arrive. And most gyms have small pools and water aerobic classes, as well as other low impact classes.

I agree with the person who suggested your seeking professional advice. A registered physical therapist working with your physician can design a land program for you that may help. Water based exercise too is good, but a therapist may be able to design you a plan that will minimize the stress on your knees and back while giving you a good workout.

I know this will sound weird, but you may want to get yourself checked for yeast (Candida). It likes diabetics and can make some of the other systemic problems worse. www.hufa.org has some basic information about systemic yeast syndromes.

Try a yoga ball you can use it for sit ups and scrunches, also get some of those stretchy bands to tone legs & arms, they also make those peddles like a bike you can use in a chair, most of all pool therapy will help I promise that one.

Go swim. Video's will only do you good if you do it. Join a swim club and you are bound to go every week.
