Casual contact through closed-mouth or "social" kissing is not a risk for transmission of HIV. Because of the potential for contact with blood during "French" or open-mouth kissing, CDC recommends against engaging in this activity with a person known to be infected. However, the risk of acquiring HIV during open-mouth kissing is believed to be very low. CDC has investigated only one case of HIV infection that may be attributed to contact with blood during open-mouth kissing.

Sure, deep kissing "down there" w/ a HIV positive partner.
Seriously, if someone w/ an open sore in their mouth kisses another person who has HIV,and they too have a sore, then there is a slight chance of transmission... but it's rare. I don't know of any cases, but I was told in a health class that the risk is always there, especially if the HIV positive person is not being treated and isn't taking any medication for the disease. Saliva doesn't carry the virus, but blood does, so if that enters your body then serious things could happpen.

No there is no proven fact that shows that deep kissing is a way to get HIV. They have not been able to prove that it can be passed through saliva if that is what you are asking and i am assuming that you are french kissing and that is what you are worried about.

Doesn't any school teach sex eduction anymore?
No, there is very very little chance of contracting HIV through kissing. You would have to kiss an HIV infected person, they would have to have a cut in their mouth and so would you and still the chance is very slim.

No. Kissing is not a route. Blood and body fluids like semen are. But if you are kissing someone with HIV, it could lead to more. Please go to a Health Dept. to get more information and stay informed!
