The over-the-counter release of the morning after pill can only mean STDs will skyrocket. The same thing happened when they released them in England, why wouldn't the results be any different here? I am worried about this. I want to be able to find an clean man, I don't think this is a lot to ask. I'm only 20 and a college sophomore, so I still have a few years yet anyway until I'd even think about getting married but I just hope that the day when my future guy proposes to me, I'll ask him "Are you clean?" and the response will be yes. I know STD rates are different in certain regions- I'm from WI if that helps (but not from a big city like Milwaukee).

I'm clean- I'm a virgin and I'm not giving my virginity to anyone other than my future husband. My worry is that the "other half" won't do their part. I'm clean, but will he be?

I mean, will men without STDs become a minority?

I don't think so. Plan B is to prevent pregnancy. It has nothing to do with STDs. People are still going to have to go to their doctors and clinics to get tested for STDs. All Plan B does is prevent pregnancy for up to 72 hours after the women had sex. Again Plan B has nothing to do with STDs.
If you want to find a clean man it's a good idea to have him (and you) get tested for STDs before you have sex and always have him wear a condom!
You also have to show proof that you are 18 when you buy it. It's like trying to buy cigarettes or alcohol, you have to show proof of your age.

Hopefully any man who you would ever have sex with (in marriage or not) would not only care about NOT getting you pregnant (or ready and able to care for the consequences) AND would also care about NOT giving you any STDs.
I don't think that the problem is birth control, abortion, or anything in between.
I believe that the bigger issue is a large proportion of people who do not take responsibility for their own actions, do not respect those they have sex for, and ultimately... don't respect themselves.
It is really sad that the only birth control which men have any "control" over is the condom... and so many choose NOT to use it (what if the woman is lying about being on the pill or having the IUD?!)... not to mention that condoms are effective at preventing the spread of STDs....

Another Plan means more chances will be taken.
Unfortunately, the simple availability will increase chances taken, even if there is no intention of taking the pill. One knowing the pill is there dosent mean they will follow through and seek it.
I have no doubts both unwanted births, and stds will rise because of release of this pill.
My question is, if a minor cannot get to the store for the plan b pill, will the "plan b" company deliver one to her home?

Disease free men and women are all ready a minority. STDs are everywhere. And think about it people lie all to often about having an STD. My advice, don't have sex until you meet this person you want to marry and before you marry him get tested for everything and hope that he doesn't have anything.

Well to make sure that you are safe and are selecting a clean man, than before you do ANYTHING sexual (fondling, touching, oral or genital sex), I would go get tested. The both of you. That way you know that you are sleeping around with just anyone and staying safe and you will know that he is too. Yeah, it will probably set a new bar of reported STD's but that doesn't mean that you have to be one of them. Don't just practice safe sex but don't have sex until you know that the man is too. That is a way to know that you and him both are 100% clean...

This is really hard to tract. Will your other get the tests needed before you say yes? Does that say they are really save? Some things can take years to show up. It's all a game of chance now isn't it?

When and if you meet the right man if he loves you he won't mind going to be tested with you. That way you will know for sure. Hold on to your to you values. After all values are the most important thing we have.
