RECIPES:

* Try going to www.foodtv.com (aka Food Network) for recipes on all types of food. I'd recommend searching for Paula Dean's recipes because she specializes in southern cuisine, and if ur having a tea party, it'd be perfect for u! Whenever I think of tea, I'm reminded of a few things: ladyfingers, shortbread, Milano cookies, and southern tea cakes, lol. From experience, the tea cakes are delish and go great w/ tea. U might also want 2 search for a few hors d'ourves (non desserts) to go w/ the party. As for beverages, try offering water, tea, of course, and maybe a little wine/champaigne

INVITATIONS:

* I have this computer program called Print Shop that helps u create ur own personal invitations/cards, etc. If u don't have a program @ home, try buying some stationary (post office, Hallmark store, etc.), and personalize by writing ur own! These look very elegant and classy (use cursive, if it's legible). Create a guest list first and then send out ur invitations at least 1 week in advance. If u want 2 make it easier and less formal, call ur friends or send a special e-card using www.hallmark.com. They have dozens of e-cards that u can use for ur invitations for ur computer savvy friends.

ETTIQUE:

* Always offer for refreshments

* Dress nicely

* Keep ur guests entertained

* Keep house/backyard clean, esp. restrooms

DECORATIONS:

* Since the party will be in the backyard, make sure the lawn is looking nice and that there are enough seats for everyone. Maybe use a mosquito/bug repellant light for those pesky insects and ants. Try having ur party in the evening when it's less hot. U can create a banner (Party City), or either purchase some of those cute lamps/candles that u can put on the back porch/sidewalks

* Serve dinner/tea/refreshments on a classic platter. Depending on the theme of ur party, u can match the utensils/plates w/ the theme. For example, a tropical theme can have coconuts/little umbrellas, etc. For a 60's or 70's theme, have a fondue pot. U can also have ur guests dress for the theme as well. This makes the party even more fun

GAMES:

* Truth or Dare - adult version. I know this is a teen game, and since I'm a teen, I know u might not want 2 play this. But it is a good way to gossip and have ur friends spill their secrets

* Board games are also very fun- try playing Taboo or Family Feud

* Card games are also fun. Try a ladie's poker

That's all I can think of for now! Have fun! I wish I could go- sounds like a blast, haha. Good blessings!

Looks like you've gotten some great answers so far, but wanted to recommend an dessert idea that turns out great! Make mini cupcakes (white) with white icing. Then take red fruit rollups (the kind for kids) and peel them down the middle (they are precut in a wavy pattern). Then roll one of the halves starting from one end, with the curvy side up. They make gorgeous roses that fit exactly on the cupcake. Then cut some green leaves from green/yellow rollups and put the under the rose. You would be amazed at how elegant they look! We made them for my daughter's tea party, but they would be perfect for adults as well. Hope your party is fun!

Go to your bakers and buy some really different, rustic/sturdy breads; go simple with the fillings: tuna salad, egg salad, sliced cucumbers (seeded and drained-cut cukes in half, scoop seeds out, salt and put in a strainer for about an hour, then get them cold in the fridge),make a cream cheese/mayo concoction with maybe some minced capers for cukes, salmon and cream cheese, i use toothpicks and get fresh mini marinated mozzarella balls, grape tomatoes, super thin slice of spicy cappicola and put together-see if you can get some wild "hats" at the party warehouse (like at the Mad Hatters tea party), go to Kinko's and have them print out some giant playing cards from actual cards you bring them, make some Long Island Iced teas and regular "sweet tea" for the non drinkers, send out invites that look like playing cards, have them dress appropriately(like they're going to an Alice in Wonderland Party), write on invites that proper dress is required, and each one must bring a game in order to be allowed entrance!

RECIPES: 1. prawns, bacon wrapped with thousand islands dressing. Just wrap a half slice of thin shaved bacon around the prawn ( tiger is best ) put a tooth pick through it and BBQ or grill until bacon is crisp. sit on lettuce for appearance and have a bowl of thousand islands dressing for a dip. 2. seasoned chicken wings. salt and paprika on them and in the oven at 180c until crisp. 3. veg skewers - capsicum, mushroom, pineapple, purple onion & raddish - NO NEED TO COOK. 4. Assorted meat, cheese, cracker & dip platter. Whatever beverages you choose.
INVITATIONS: Make your own from a SILVER cardboard base with your favourite colour paper having information printed and cut to the shape you desire glued on.
ETTIQUITE: Your choice I am sorry as they are your choice of friends. Iprefer just to keep things neutral as this will avoid the need and people will blend naturally.
DECORATIONS: Unnecessary as food and friends will make the day work well.
GAMES: Depends on the age group as to what is to be played. My niece likes Jelly bean poker. Hope this helps.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.
