I run many Heart related Groups in Yahoo and can assure you that what you describe is a common condition. Palpitations are not dangerous as long as they pass within a few minutes and are not a daily occurrence. Don't go running to the Hospital when there is no pain involved. You probably get anxious and have palpitations. So relax and live your life. :-)

Depends on how old you are. Perimenopausal symptoms can include heart palpitations during a hot flash.

Maybe mitrovalve prolapse. My sister has it and describes the same symptoms. Don't put it off, go to the doctor and have an ultrasound of your heart and an ekg. They will detect any abnormalities if there are any.

See a doctor. Do not waste time in here.
Could be serious, could be nothing.
No one here can make that determination.
