The tilt table test is used to investigate cases of syncope [sink-o-pee]. Syncope is the fancy name for unexplained feinting. In general feignting is due to a loss of blood pressure.
So you will be placed on the table then tilted to examine changes in blood pressure, but also other physiologic responses as well that help make a diagnosis. It is frequently used to identify possible heart rhythm problems. In the case of heart rhythm issues, the heart issue presents itself, then the blood pressure drops.

thats where they measure your blood pressure standing and laying down. by comparing the two, they can tell if you are dehydrated.
