There really is no easy way to tell someone you have genital herpes. Just sit down and explain it to them.

When I told my fiance (boyfriend at the time) that I had genital herpes he was shocked. But, he wasn't rude or mean about it at all. He was more concerned and understanding about it. I even gave him a few good websites about herpes and what it is. That way he could check it out in his spare time. I have honestly never had a bad reaction from someone when I told them I had genital herpes. That doesn't mean you won't, but from my experience, the guys I have dated have always been really nice about it.

Make sure you explain to them what happened with you and your ex. Good luck to you!

The only thing you can do is be honest. Unfortunetly your ex was not as honest and you are forever reminded of his dishonesty. There are those out there that are going to be put off and leave but you can protect them from getting herpes and if they take of dispite of that, you don't want them anyway. You are going to have to take your relationships slow and allow them to get to know you and really appreciate you. Once they fall for the REAL YOU, having herpes won't matter.

Be the bigger person and just be honest. They will love you even more since they will know that you are thinking of their health first.

you could try leading into the discussion by mentioning some things about herpies:

1> ask if he get cold sores
2> mention that a cold sore can be transfered to any part of the body by contacting with it
3> mention that an estimated 70% of people in the US have herpies (cold sores or genital herpies)

Be honest. Most everyone has had prior experiences, and he'll think more of you if you're honest about it up front.

And if he doesn't....he's not worth it.

ask him first, do you have herpes? and gauge his reaction.
