Goodness.
Go with Philippa's advice.
There is a lot of snake oil or patent medicines out there, and many predators who wish to take advantage of peoples hopes.
However, you have serious health problems. Some of those alternative treatments may interfere with the legitimate medical treatments you are being prescribed.
If you wish to pursue alternative health remedies, find a LICENSED MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL who incorporates those therapies within his practice.
I understand your concern, I have quite a few health problems, but alternative treatments have caused me to test false positive for a plethora of additional health problems. I dropped them and things went back to normal.
You would better spend your time researching legitimate medical practitioners who incorporate alternative therapies on the web, rather than on Yahoo Answers, if you wish to pursue alternative therapies. They do exist, but make sure they still have their full medical licenses in the relevant specialty. Generally, the good ones will help you with designing a diet and exercise program, with some supplements that would be appropriate to your case and reduce the strength of the medicines you are currently taking.
Sorry, there is no panacea.
Good luck to you

Hole in the heart: Where? How old are you/your patient?
Usually these need repair, either
endovascularly or surgically, although a small
VSD in a young child may close spontaneously.
Cholesterol: Simvastatin, or a statin of your choice.
Block HMG-CoA reductase and your
endogenous sterol synthesis will reduce
sufficiently to lower your cholesterol.
Diet may help slightly but is less useful than
statins as your body synthesizes more than its
daily requirement of cholesterol daily anyway.
High BP: Lots of options, varied depending on you
general health, kidney function etc.
Firstly: avoid stressful situations, caffeine, shift
work and try and keep to less than 6g salt per
day. Don't smoke - anything.
Medication:
GPs often favour thiazide diuretics. These are
okay but can have significant side effects in a
few people. ACE inhibitors are probably
worthwhile unless you have kidney disease,
and should be used in any diabetic with
hypertension. Calcium channel antagonists
are also favoured if you have no other
medications likely to interact with them. Beta-
blockers are another option, beneficial but can
limit exercise tolerance slightly as they limit
heart rate. Best see your doctor for advice.
Post/pre surgery heart diseases:
Nebulous concept. General control of
cardiovascular risk factors is the best you can
hope for such a broad range of heart
conditions (practically all of which could come
into this category!). i.e. BP, Diabetes, Chol,
Smoking all need treating.
Alternate remedy: no evidence base usually. Most effects as placebo (in itself reducing BP by allaying anxiety) but where you health is concerned why take the risk of endorsing therapies that are largely labelled "alternative" as they have no evidence to support their effectiveness, while there are clearly a number of established therapies which definitely have been shown to be effective: that's why your doctor uses them!
Just because something is "alternate" does not make it any more "natural", "safe" or "effective" than proper medicine. Nor does it mean it does not work, it simply reflects the lack of evidence to establish it as a proper medical treatment. Hence it can be a waste of money and no use, when recognised medical therapy at least is shown to work.
Don't mess around with your health, get treatments you know will work, not hocus pocus you hope might do.
Symptom relief: huge topic but yes there are many options here. See your doctor.
Cure: depends on the disease in question. Very few diseases apart from infectious disease are truely "curable" (ie removed with complete resolution of the patients body to an undamaged and normal premorbid state after treatment) but many illnesses can be treated completely and in effect "cured". Again, you need a more focussed question here.
