Intestines are thoroughly cleaned before they are prepped for cooking. In Chinese cuisine, they are considered a delicacy. They are usually stuffed with green onion and fried until they're golden and crispy with soft chewiness inside. I actually happen to think they're rather delicious. I'm sure most people would agree if they weren't so busy being yicked out by the idea of eating certain animal parts. Honestly, there are probably worse things in hot dogs and bologna... most people just choose to be blissfully ignorant of such things.

I believe that the answer to this question would depend on how the intestine was cooked before it was eaten. If the intestine was say to be boiled in water and then served with an additional entree then any cud that may have been remaining in the intestine would disolve before consumption. If the intestine was baked or cooked in another manner where the inside of the intestine was not disturbed than yes it is entirely possible that the person eating it could also be eating the cud that the cow was eating. Though that would also depend on when the last time the cow ate and in any case I'm sure that the FDA has laws regulating the quality of intestine sold.

You are talking about cow stomach soup. No,they wash and clean that stuff up real well and use some sort of caustic solution to further clean it. It's really great stuff. I think the Mexican folks call it menudo.

No. To prepare chitterlings you must 'sling' the crap out of them and wash them good before cooking them. I have eaten them fried and they are pretty good. Only it isn't cow intestines it's pig.

I am a vegetarian and you didn't offend me at all. Nice try.

Would you like your chitterlings stump beat or hand slung?
