Octopus is chewy and tastes a little fishy, I only had it once, or was that Squid, I don't recall, but it wasn't to my liking.

If it's properly done, char broiled octopus is crunchy on the outside, succulent in the middle. The problem is that most people screw it up and wind up with a chewy mess.
If you are ever in Chicago, The Greek Islands Restaurant on S.Halsted makes great grilled octopus- the rest of their menu is good too.
In NYC the Astoria section of Queens has some good Greek restaurants. Stop by Titan Foods which is on 30th st , under the el and ask them who's good

It depends on how you prepare it. How long you cook it. Its taste like the squid or cuttlefish. Get one and try it yourself to find out. Sweet, chewy, nice.

DELICIOUS!!! Mild, a tiny bit like the ocean if it's good, and the texture is a little chewy - not like gnawing a superball or anything, just a little resistance to the tooth.

very good - depending on the preperation! grilled and sushi are okay but my favorite.... boiled then chilled and served with an olive oil, lemon, white wine base, feta cheese, beets, cucumbers and fresh pita bread!
(New Parthenon in Detoit's Greektown used to have the best, haven't been there in years though)
