If you have large red blister like sores that are very painful in your genital area then you probably have genital herpes. Genital herpes is usually passed by having sex with a person who has it, but it can also be spread by direct skin to skin contact with the sores.
I have had genital herpes for over 5 years. I was diagnosed when I was just 17 years old, so it was VERY scary for me. If you would like to email me you can. Good luck!

Like everyone is telling you...it is very important to go to the dr. Herpes is the most common STD in the US, and most people dont even know they have it. There most common are HSV 1 (oral) which can not be spread to the genital area...only to the mouth through drinking, using chapstick or etc after someone who is having an outbreak. Although, HSV2 (genital) can be spread to the mouth. If your partner has HSV2 and you perform oral sex, it is possible for you to contract it orally if he/she is having an outbreak or "shedding" the virus. It is possible for your partner to have herpes and you contract it without even knowing it. I contracted HSV 2 from my partner who never had any sort of symptoms, and I was just more sensitive to the virus. He never has any problems, but me on the other hand. I have to take daily medication to control it. Hsv can be diagnosed by your dr viewing and taking swabs while having an outbreak. Or a bloodtest, the only problem is that your dr possibly may not be able to tell you what strain of the virus you have because the virus has began to "mutate" so it's hard to diagnose.

get yourself to a doctor as soon as possible. if you are not close enough to your bf to ask if he might have herpes, what are you doing have oral sex (or whatever)????
you can get herpes by just kissing. cold sores are herpes of the mouth. if he has a blister on/in his mouth, and gives you oral sex, you could get herpes "down there". you can get herpes anywhere on your skin, but most likely in the mouth area, and genitals. you can get herpes in your eyes, and go blind. if a woman gives birth with an active lesion, her child is at risk of getting the disease with horrible consequences. once a person has herpes, there is no cure, and up to 70% of people with no active lesions are still infectious.
an attack of herpes is very distinctive. the skin feels very itchy, and creepy crawly, like there is something moving. if you scratch it, the spot will hurt like anything, and the creepy crawly feeling will get worse. after a period of time, blisters will form. then the blisters open up, ooze fluid, and the pain is unbearable. the blisters then scab over and heal without a scar. the process takes about 2 weeks without medication. with medication taken properly, an attack might last 3 days, with the symptoms much less in severity.
go to your doctor!! they have blood tests for herpes, and swab tests. you can only get the medication through your doctor.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

I have many problems 'down there', but unfortunately, my family doctor moved away a while ago and I hadn't had a chance to find one since. Best idea: go to the doctor. If I remember correctly, you may have to let your doctor look 'at you' or get some smears, but it's better than the stress of not knowing.
There are medications that the doctor can/will prescribe to you if you need them; listen carefully to what he says, and ask -any- questions you have.

its really important that you go to the doctor, or planned parenthood. i dont know what symptoms youre having, but if you have sores, you need to get them tested while theyre still open so that you can know for sure whether you have it or not! its really hard to diagnose if you are not having an outbreak. theres a lot of good info online...try herpes.com. if you need someone to talk to, totally email me. i have genital herpes and i understand how scary and awful it makes you feel.

You can get herpes from oral sex and penetration. If you are suspicious of having some symptoms, please see a doctor. Remember, herpes can not be cured, but can be treated. The sooner the better. Also, you and ur bf need to stop sexual contact until you get this matter resolved. You and your bf need to get checked as soon as possible. Best wishes...
