It is an acquired taste. My Chinese wife actually steams it until firm. She prepares it with chopped red pepper and veggies. The taste is almost like squid. However, there is a slight bitterness that the red peppers covers up. Now I usually order it at local Guangdong restaurants. But, it is only the best restaurants that will prepare it.

(Shall I tell Big Jimi that a jellyfish is not really a fish, or do you want to? LOL!)
Jellyfish (like many items in Asian cuisine) is eaten more for its texture than its flavour. Thinly-sliced jellyfish tastes like whatever you cook it in, and has a lovely crunch. If you are curious, you will almost certainly find some jellyfish snack-foods at your local Asian grocery store.
Itadakimas! (Bon appetit!)

It tastes like nothing can compared but it is very tasty. Try the simple way of cooking, fry with chopped garlic & black pepper powder, it goes well with soya sauce or fish sauce plus a little lime juice as dipping. Yummy....Yummy

Asians have used them as appetizers since ages... they are very bland tasting.. but we boil them then marinade them in sweet and sour sauce... served cold!
Baking may work... but frying you will really need to dry them real good!!! They have lots of cavities that retain water!

Great starter for asian dish. Just blanch them in hot water and over cold water. Marinate with sesame oil, soy sauce etc and sprinkled with sesame and coriander. Serve cold. It really very nice. Crunchy.

prepared asian style in sweet hot sauce, sprinkled with sesame seeds, they are boiled and cut very fine in strips and served chilled. they actually are very tasty, but bland on their own without the seasoning, it's their texture that makes them really yummy, crisp, crunchy and chewy all at the same time...hard to explain, but really really nice.
