Brushing and flossing can cause an opening (cut) in the gum. That makes a great door for bacteria and viruses to enter directly into the bloodstream. Intact tissue is the first line of defense!

probably because you can open your gums up and cut them even a small unnoticable one when brushing your teeth or flossing......causing the germs to get in your bloodstream and increase your risk of an STD
