All I know is what a friend in church who has AIDS told me. She says it costs her $18k per year in drugs. She is one of the few who has survived full blown AIDS.

Sorry to tell you this cost and I hope the best for your friend.

In Peace,

what you have to understand when dealing with AIDS is that there is no 'surviving' it. You can prolong your life, but as in many forms of cancer, or degenerative diseases, it is inevitably terminal.

Anti-virals, chemotherapy, antibiotics, steroids, for the heaviest medication and best prognosis, can cost thousands a month. Insurance will usually take people only so far, and can't afford the top treatments available. Look for it to cost thousands a month for the best, and for standard, lower end treatments, in the hundreds.

Medicine for aids is extremely expensive. That is why companies require medical exams now before they hire someone. They are not going to bear all those expenses. Probably you will have to raise anywhere between 15-25k for treatment.
