Is it because you disagree with killing for food, or because you simply don't like the taste or texture of meat?

because its my choice and who wants to consume dead bodies and corpses even if the carcass belongs to an animal.
and animals also feel they are not superior in race ahead of us but they still are intelligent enough to feel emotions or else why will even birds care for their off springs,
tell me if you are afraid and on a point where someone is going to kill you what happens ,adrenaline rushes in and poisons your blood and makes you hyper energetic to think and run when in danger, similarly whenever an animal is killed, isn't it that it's blood gets poisoned too.
it 's your choice my friend

I am a Hindu, and in Hinduism eating meat is a sin. But I will not take this in a religious perspective, lets examine this physically, i.e human vs. herbivore vs. carnivore. Man and herbivore do not have claws such as that of carnivores. Carnivores have sharp front teeth for tearing but have no flat molar teeth for grinding. However man and herbivore have no sharp front teeth but have flat rear molars. In other words man and herbivore do not have the proper teeth needed for chewing meat which requires tearing and swallowing without grinding. Carnivores have a strong hydrochloric stomache acid which is 20 times stronger than a man's or carnivore's stomache acid. And carnivores have a intestinal tract 3 times their body length so decaying meat passes through their body quickly while humans and herbivores have a intestinal tract of 10-12 times their body length. These are physical factors, but do not forget the ethnical part of this. The way these animals are killed. It is simply immoral. But this decision is entirely up to the one reading this.

for me becoming a vegetarian was rather an experiment than a statement. i used to like meat and it fascinated me that there were people who could live entirely without it. i wanted to find out how long i could do without... after a few months i accidentally ate some meat from a pizza and it made me feel sick... i am still a vegetarian because actually i do care about animals (don't agree with HOW they are killed - being treated like objects) and i also think it's healthier... it's been almost 9 years now

i am a born vegetarian. i had not tasted even eggs till i was 12 years old.when i got married & had my kids i started preparing non veg at home for my children's sake. not because i felt non veg is nutritious it is because they liked to eat non veg. i have tasted tham. but whenever i see non veg dishes i think of the poor animal which got killed because of us. & i become depressed.i cannot enjoy the food. now my kids have grown big i tell tham to go out & have whatever they want. i hate killng innocent ( only innocent animals like hens, ducks , sheep. goats pigs are killed mostly) animals which are harmless to the mankind. don't u think we r worse than the wild animals like tigers & lions ? they have to kill other animals as they don't have any choice. but we ?we can live in this world without killing those harmless animals. when god has given us an alternative food why should we kill the animals ?

I don't want my food coming from a animal who didn't deserve to be killed just so it could become my dinner, when I could just eat other things that wouldn't be killed.

I do eat dairy and egg's though, most cakes are made with eggs, and I love cake, but the chicks haven't developed so I don't find it to bad eating eggs :P (My original plan was to become vegan, but my mom can't make special everything for me, I don't think I'll be going vegan anymore :P)

When people are all like what about vegetables and fruit they get killed to, I find that a bit stupid, because most of them arn't killed, such as apples and tomatoes, you just pluck them off and the plant doesn't die in the process o.O

I dislike the texture of meat.
I hate seing blood while cooking it, it makes me sick to my stomach.
Eating any meat (beef, porkm chicken, turkey, lamb etc.) makes me feel so heavy and miserable. I bloat and makes me want to barf. Honest.
I see meat as dead animals. I can't stand it. I see a rack of ribs as a piece of a carcase. I rather see animals alive.
Breeding animals for food is cruel. Their lives are doomed from birth.
Living conditions of most bred-for-food animals are substandard. Small cages, no space to move, crated like things...mass productions of lives... is horrible.
I could not stand to eat animals that have live and suffered such horrible life anymore.
Slaughter procedures are inhumane.
These animals are injected with hormones and chemicals to become bigger and produce more meat. The flesh produced is already poisened.
I never understood the double stantards of why is OK to kill a cow for food and then condemn those in Asia that eat dogs and cats. They are all animals....what's the difference?

So many reasons for my decision.

I'm not a full fledge vegan. Although at one point I was. I just don't like the taste/texture of meat. It literally makes me sick. I still don't eat beef. But, I did go to the local steakhouse with my hubby this summer - and got very very very sick afterwards.

I'd rather stick with my tofu burgers! And, Quorn is every bit as good as a chicken sanwich!

IMO, the Vanilla Soy milk tastes like ice cream :))

I don't like the killing for food - but it goes far beyond that.

The way these animals a treated from the moment they are born to the moment they are brutally slaughtered is appalling. If you beat your dog with a stick until he died, you would go to jail, yet, this is an acceptable way to kill a bird for food....

Something is very wrong with our way of life if we can let the slaughter continue...

both
i've been a vegetarian for over ten years now.
i have tried beef and hated the flavor and the gross stringy texture. that was a couple of years ago. now i rarely drink milk (only in cereal or to make mac and cheese), only eat cheese on pizza or in a sandwich, and not very often, and never eat eggs. personally the idea of eating unfertilized chicken embryo disgusts me. and it smells horrible too.
anyways, i have never once regretted it.
