I've tried looking for vege marshmallows for a friend of mine who is Muslim as its compulsory to toast marshmallows at the end of a BBQ but to no avail I'm afraid!

Unfotunately they contain gelatine (an animal product) so are not acceptable to vegetarians, vegans and Muslims. Just had to clarify that!

I hope you find some!

I have the address of a really good company. Go to PETA.com and order the vegitarian starter kit and if you just can't wait their phone number is 1-800-438-4366 PETA Catalog.org they are on page 11 in the catalog and a 10 once bag is $5.50.

Marshmallows are sugar, the only way they would not be a vegan food is if the sugar was from bee honey, which I doubt. It probably comes from cane sugar or the other unlikely by product of beet or corn.

If you're a vegan, then you shouldn't be asking the question. It's like vegetarians eating non-meat bacon flavoured crisps. If you crave marshmallows, treat yourself once in a while. It's not like killing a cow. Well it probably is 'cos I guess they have gelatine in them. Best forget it.
