mountain oysters taste between kidney and pork liver ,very good seared to golden brown add onions and a little fresh garlic ,make a gravy to it , season to taste pepper , salt ,what ever your taste buds desire, easy on salt .make some mash potatoes and biscuit and you're all good.

they are DELICIOUS! (my favorite food.) it depends on their size......very small from young calves have a very delicate flavor....they are very tender. larger ones from older calves sometimes have a flavor similar to chicken gizzards. they are not as tender but still good.
the larger ones sold at the grocery store as "bull fries" are tough and not very flavorful.
roll them in a mixture of half cornmeal and half flour w/ some salt and pepper and fry them. dip them in cocktail sauce (hey, they call 'em oysters, so why not treat like seafood?) and enjoy.
if you are considering giving them a try, do it.

For real, they taste like, well, they really have their own taste, but a lot will tell you chicken. Fry and Try!!!

They just taste like meat not nutty,,, haha pun intended. but if you eat them you better make sure you have yoursignificant other with you beacause they will make you.. H0rny.
