I've been living with diabetes for over 30 years. I am terrible at checking blood sugars, eating regularly, avoiding alcohol... I get a little depressed when I think about my disease. Haven't been to my endocrinologist since 2003 - avoid it at all costs. Any advice from other diabetics?

why does everyone have to be so mean!! Apparently, this is an issue for this person or they would not have asked for advice. We all have our demons. I am a diabetic and some days are good and others are bad. I'm not perfect with checking my blood sugars or always eating the right foods and occasionally have a drink, but I have lost 40 lbs and feel better. So, lay off!! You only anwer for 2 points--so what--this is a human life.

My mother has been a diabetic since she was 22, she is now 57. She has been checking her blood sugars and taking her medicines the way they are suppose to be taken. She sees the doctor every 3 months. Eventhough she can't exercise too much cuz of all her other problems - she tries. I think she has been around this long just cuz she tries to keep it under control. You have to deal with the fact that you have it, and try to take care of yourself the best you can.

I know it can be a pain in the behind... but it has to be done! I had it while I was pregnant, and will probably get it again when I get older... I have to understand that it is a disease like any other and that I am the only one that can control it.

I know a few other people that have diabetes and drink.... just not a lot.

Good luck.. go see a doctor and take good care of yourself.

I sorta know the feeling. I don't drink, and I've only been living with diabetes for 9 years, but I definitely get into those ruts where I don't check my sugar the way I should. Best advice I can give would be this: Live like a human, not a dibetic. There's no way you'll be perfect in your regimen all the time, but your regimen will not interfere with your life if you simply incorporate it into your liveing. Also, if you need motivation to go see a doc, or if it's too expensive to get your HbA1c, try the home kits at walmart/cvs/etc. for $20. They're fairly accurate and will at least give you a ballpark figure. Might think about an antidepressant too. Talk to your primary doc.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I've been taking a natural supplement for a while now that is geared for overall health and nutrtition but has helped people with many different health challenges. I have seen many people personally have incredible success with gettting their glucose levels under control with this supplement. You might want to check out some of the infomation that i had looked at when i was learning about this product.

It's so strange, but every diabetic, and I mean every single one I know of does not take care of themselves. I have had diabetes for a few years now. I am the only one that I know that cares if I go blind, have kidney failure, lose my limbs,or have a heart attack or stroke.
Why is it so hard for people to show self control when it comes to food? My blood sugars run from 70 - 120. My A1C was 5.2, three months ago. Why? Because I have self discipline when it comes to my food that I intake. I am sorry, I have no sympathy for you. Start taking care of yourself.

Sorry about your health condition. I am not a diabetic but I have read where diabetes can be CURED by modifying the diet and making the blood alkaline. It is said by wholistic practitioners that no form of disease can thrive in an alkaline blood, not even cancer, but the regular docs do not tell us this. Foods that make the blood alkaline are carrots, cabbages ,vegetable juices, coconut water.

You however have to see a wholistic, natural remedy doc to manage your health with you. When you are sufficiently healed you will be allowed to have some of the foods you like but not on an everyday basis as this will make your blood acidic and you will become ill again. Please go to the above websites for more info and please avoid all acidic foods. Stop worrying about your health and take action. You will be glad you did. Take action now!

would first try to get appointment with your doctor (endocrinologist)perhaps you might have to give a little, with changing eating and drinking habits. If the endocrinologist will not bend in attitude tor ward you, perhaps you could look for an internist or regular general practitioner that other diabetics like working with. 15 years ago, i was going to an endocrinologist that other diabetics feared the regular office visits with him for what he was going to say to them. the doctor tried to scare me about my weight.especially after a little weight gain.I took it quietly for about 4 years. the doctor was himself putting on weight. telling the doctor he looks like his wife is getting to be a good cook got me nowhere.only when i said i knew what he was trying to cover up with that white coat he was wearing must have made him a little more human on weight gain because he mellowed(and left for a bigger city),I now go to a doctor knows i am not a perfectionist, but fax in 4 daily blood sugar readings Monday morning
every week to adjust the 3 humalog and 1evening lantus injections.perhaps you could give the doctor a chance, and ask if he would give you a chance. hope things work out for you.

I was given the news almost 13 years ago. I cried, screamed and got on a health kick. I dropped 52 pounds in six months and my numbers were wonderful. In fact in 2003 my numbers were perfect. Then my mother got sick and I lost interest in taking care of myself. I treated me with ice cream and candy and now weight the same. My problem is not being able to afford the meds, or doc's appointments. You need to love yourself enough to do whatever it takes. Good luck!
