Alcohol sugars when listed on the ingredients are just that. A sugar in alcohol form and should be treated just like sugar. In addition to diabetics needing to watch the sugar intake, the sugar alcohol intake you also need to be watching the carbs intake as that pretty much turns to sugar right away too. (there are good carbs and bad carbs, the bad go to sugar quickly.)

Alcohol turns to sugar when it enters the blood stream and there are lots of alcoholic drinks that contain a lot of sugar. Yes it can affect a diabetic they are only able to drink certain alcoholic drinks your local diabetic clinic will have the information you require or your gp.

All alcohols break down into sugars inside the body. Hard liqueur is the worst to drink for diabetics, and red wine is the best.

RE: outcomes of too plenty alcohol for somebody with diabetes? Everytime i'm out ingesting alcohol I keep blanking out/falling asleep. I even have form 2 diabetes and severe blood stress. each and every so often each time i'm blanking out/without warning falling asleep it rather is for 0.5 an hour, different circumstances have been for some hours. is this well-known?, as I dont sense drained earlier I fall...

it is a common factor in the sugar free food...I don't know if it is helpful or harmful, but when I had to start the diabetic diet due to hypoglycemia I notice that I was bloated and retained more water. now I monitor the sugar alcohol and am doing better....good luck

I do not recommend alcohol to other diabetics - from personal experience it'll make your blood sugar high and make you sick.
