can you tell from blood work if a person has chronic pancreaitis?

There are a couple of tests run routinely if pancreatitis is suspected: Amylase and lipase. Other tests may be run at the same time: CBC and Comprehensive metabolic chemistry profile. Hepatitis testing might also be ordered to make sure that the problem is pancreatitis rather than hepatitis.
