The only thing you can do to help not spread herpes to your partner it to use condoms EVERY time and to take Valtrex. Valtrex is the only medication for herpes proven to help prevent the spread of genital herpes.
Your partner will more then likely get herpes from you someday, especially if you have plan to have a baby. Even though herpes is a virus and there is no cure for it, there really are no serious health problems associated with it, unlike other STDs. There are tens of thousands of couples who have genital herpes and are in a perfectly happy, healthy, relationship. Don't worry, you can enjoy your sex life and not pass it to your partner as long as you take precautions.

If you have genital herpes, don't have sex with your partner if you care about him/her because sexual intercourse spreads genital herpes. Even oral and anal sex can transmit herpes.
HSV-1 and HSV-2 can be found in and released from the sores that the viruses cause, but they also are released between outbreaks from skin that does not appear to be broken or to have a sore.
Generally, a person can only get HSV-2 infection during sexual contact with someone who has a genital HSV-2 infection. Transmission can occur from an infected partner who does not have a visible sore and may not know that he or she is infected.
There is no treatment for herpes that cures it, but there are some things that can suppress it and decrease chances of transmission. When taking these treatments, it should be safer to have sexual intercourse (but there's still a risk). I suggest abstinence, though.

There is always a risk of spreading herpes even if you wear a condom. Be up front with your partner and make sure that they understand the risks involved. I have it and my guy doesn't and he is totally okay with it. He doesn't ever plan on being with someone else and is not to worried about it. Good Luck.

you can have sex with your partner....first let them know your situation it makes things easier....there are drugs out there that can extremely lower your risk of transmitting it to someone else....also do not have sex when you have a break out of warts...people are ignorant so don't listen to them...if a person with HIV can marry and have kids why shouldn't you be able to...go see your doctor or better go to a sex health clinic explain your situation and you can get some help

Be aware of when you are having an outbreak. Even if you don't have sores, but "feel funny", wear condoms or just wait until the outbreak subsides.
