The 4 newest are Lantus, Levemir, Apidra, and the Exubera (?)

Lantus is a 24 hour "peakless" insulin, used as a basal
Levemir lasts from 6-24 hours based on dose, also used as basal.

Apidra is a new short acting, similar to Humalog/Novolog. Main thing is that it has a specific indication for being taken 15 min before a meal to 20 min after a meal, whereas humalog/novolog don't have the specific indication for that.
Exubera is the inhaled insulin, to be used as a short acting, bolus insulin.
