Definitely I would change my main dish plans. Both seafood and pork if not cooked or handled correctly can make anyone sick and God forbid the new mother and others get food poisoning. My sister just had a baby shower and they went with bought sub platters, and appetizer sandwiches, fruit platters, and chips and cake. My sister's friend had like a full thanksgiving dinner made in March for her baby shower. I see that you want something that is fancy. Maybe you can serve chicken fried steak

the seafood sounds really good but you have to make sure that nobody in the baby shower is allergic to seafood. i think your best bet is the stuffed porkloins, but also find out if any guests are vegetarian, because if some are, you will have to have some kind of non-meat plate.
also scallop potatoes are better and safer to serve than cabbage considering cabbage makesw you go to the bathroom alot, u dont want guests geting up before the fun events of the shower becasue they ahev to run to the bathroom

Fettuccini easy. U should use shrimp in it or scallops or both! If u wanted to use something besides seafood and there weren't any vegetarians, make it with cubes of ham or slices of grilled chicken. For on the side, make a nice salad. Maybe one with a vinegret dressing or a light ceaser dressing. Toss romaine lettuce with olives (whole or sliced), parmesan perhaps, maybe a few tomatoes (slices or little cubes), red onions, cabbage, maybe mushrooms, and top with peppercinis(spelling) if u like. Bread is always a good side too. Try spreading french bread with butter mixe with garlic powder adn minced garlic, spread it on the bread, adn sprinkle with parmesan. Then place in the oven and broil it until it turns a light golden color (b sure to watch it or it may burn) Hope all goes well!!

I am hosting a baby shower for my sister in law this weekend, and I went thru the same dilemma of what to serve. After so many options, I decided to order the food from a local restaurant to stick to my budget, and shopping around to get the best prices, so that I wouldnt have to worry about preparing the food, but only for decorating, picking up the cake and presenting the food and drinks beautifilly. For me it was difficult to try to stick to a budget and trying to be creative with the menu and drinks and also to enjoy the party and look fresh!
As for your food options both sound delicious, I would go with the easiest to make! Also take into consideration any guests that might be allergic to seafood.

I'd forget the fettuccine with seafood; women are to picky. Depends on the pork loin, are you stuffing it yourself?
Go to Costco and buy a pre-marinated pork loin. Easy to cook, slice it very thin and get be served warm with it's own juices if you don't cremate it!
Buy fettuccine and pesto sauce at Costo - great combination especially if you add some bacon or better yet, pancetta. (Be sure to cook the pancetta) Also, add some red and yellow cherry tomatoes.
Make a salad of greens, tomatoes, tortalene, Mandarin oranges, pine nuts (toasted) and raspberry dressing.

At the shower, will people actually be seated at a table to eat? It seems like at these kinds of events I'm usually eating from a small plate on my lap, and I don't want to run the risk of splashing a sauce of any sort all over my clothes.
I'd go for the pork.

1st off... i'd choose the surely meal or snack to be something a touch extra filling than salad. even even with the undeniable fact that salad is a good and healthful selection i imagine that per chance you could serve something mutually with Baked or Grilled hen with lemon spritzed on correct, and on the facet of that you'll grant salad like you've been planning on making formerly. The beverages that you'll server sounds fairly good so your good there. And the mandatory individual will likely eat purely a million plate, yet to be on the danger-free facet and available dodge embarrassment, make sufficient for anybody to a minimum of get 2 plates... this kind you could be completely prepared purely IN CASE human beings choose to get 2 plates. good success! and characteristic exciting!

It's a baby shower, not a sit down dinner. Serve finger foods

Try both, not everyone likes seafood. If the mum to be knows about the shower, ask her what she would like.
