I would check with your mother to make sure the machine is working correctly. If it is and you are sure you are using it right then I would make an appointment asap with you doctor. Blood surgars that are that high and that low can be deadly dangerous. See medical attention!

Best of luck to you and I hope all works out well.

Eating can cause your sugar levels to rise. Not only sugar brings your glucose levels up but carbs do also. These are high readings however if you watch what you eat (bread, rice, macaroni, potato) all these raise glucose levels because of the starch in them. Your body converts the starch into sugar which in turn is broken down by your natural insulin and made into energy. Are you active?
Try eating less carbs (starchy foods) and then check your levels see if it is just your diet that is screwin around with your levels. The headaches can be caused by your sugar levels rising too fast and or your levels are going too low. So keep a hard candy cwith you at all times if you start to feel light headed simple take the candy and you should come out of it just fine. If you are more concerned please please don't hesitate to contact your physician and get checked for diabetes. Good luck.

If your sugars are bouncing this far apart then you need to be seen by a real doctor. It could be that your BS is bouncing during the night or that you are taking the test wrong. Either way NOW you are worried about it and just that will rise or lower your BS,
You have already taken the first step (by using the monitor) now do the right thing and see your doctor.
Normal BS as your Mother probably told you, is 60-120 on most machines. (USA standards)

The low sugars in the morning can make you feel lightheaded. It is important when checking your sugar that you make sure it is the same time of day and that you have not eaten prior to get an accuarate comparison. If the readings are still elevated consult your PCP so they can run some fasting blood work to further investigate your symptoms

You are not using the machine correctly. In the absence of an antihyperglycemic medication (insulin or oral diabetes meds) your glucose will not vary as yours is doing. If you are concerned about having diabetes, ask your doctor to measure your blood glucose accurately at a lab, and then see what he or she suggests.

Anything over 120 is high and dangerous.

You may need to take some medication to keep your sugar low. Get to your doctor. He/she will also check your insulin levels through bloodwork. Your insulin may be out of whack too.

Best of luck!

Get to a dr. asap. Those low numbers could throw you into a coma and the high ones could make you have a heart attack. And yes, I have diabetes.
