My blood sugars have been in the 500's and higher for the past 6 months, and I dont know what to do, I have lost over 30 lbs. in the past 2 months, all i feel like doing is sleeping, I cant wake up in the morning to go to work and Im always drained, feel dizzy, I get the cold sweats in the night and sometimes during the day. Now I have an ulcer and my eating habbits are all messed up. Dont get no exercise because i have a desk job and when i get home Im so tired. Example last weekend i sleep for 2 days straight, and maybe only ate one meal or so. Its getting pretty serious, my vision is getting blurred and I get cramps in my legs and lower back. Can someone out there give me some guidence.

Diabetics eat 3 - 6 meals a day (small meals). This aids in avoiding hunger. You have to watch what you eat, must get exercise and take medication. You are sleeping because your sugars are much too high. You don't want to sleep into a coma so take control. It's not easy but you have to do it until it becomes second nature to you. See your doctor.

Have u been telling these things to your diabetologist? Are you having regular check ups? What kind of medications are you taking up? It all depends on your lifestyle and how you maintain diabetes. If your feelings these things its time for you to go directly to your doctor before some other complications started to ruin all your body organs. Oh yeah pls go to an opthalmologist too to check if your eyes have not yet been destroyed because of diabetes. I am type 2 diabetic so I am advising you these things. You cant exercise because of workloads in the office? Well, you can try brisk walking or using the stairs in the office when it is break time or why dont you try buying ( i dont know the name) but it is like a pedal of a bicycle and having a stand; You can use this even if you are sitting down in front of the computer and working.

About foods; we are diabetics so we do need to eat at a plan time. For example you do eat 12pm for ur lunch then u should eat at the same time. Never skip meals, you will experience hypoglycemia. Having nerve cramps, try having a habbit of drinking Vit.B1B6B12 everyday it is for our nerves.

Three keys to diabetic control: Medication, Eating right (not starving yourself) and exercise.

From what you say, you have already seen a doctor. Take your medicine religiously. Eat small meals (no starvation) and watch what you eat. Don't ever cheat (not even one sugar laden cookie - at least for a while till your blood sugar comes down).

You need to engage in exercise. Start with walking (no matter how little) and try to increase it. Get a buddy (colleague, wife, boss etc) to monitor you and give you psychological support.

Hang in there - it will take time. But it will work out!

First of all, if your blood sugars are around 500 and you have an ulcer I would highly suggest you see a doctor now or go to the emergency room!!! Don't do anything until you have done this!!! You could eventually fall into a coma!!! After you have seen your Dr. have him or her write a prescription to see a diabetes educator and a nutritionist if you haven't seen them already. They will help you with your diet and offer you tips on avoiding and handling diabetic emergencies like this one. Most insurance companies (assuming you have it) do offer coverage for this. But please see a Dr. esp. with that ulcer. It could easily lead to amputations!!!

Please go to the doctor I'm diabetic your feeling like this because your numbers are 500 you are looking for a major heart attack. Your doctor can put you on pills to start off if it don't work you might have to take insulin like me 2 times a day until u get controlled. Do not wast any more time on here and get to the doctor good luck. If u need to talk to someone about diabetes after the doctor my e-mail is uofsmike@yahoo.com

t

To start with you have to get more exercise no excuses. Please remember it is your life & nobody elses. You have to take care of yourself. I noticed that you only ate 1 or 2 meals a day, that will not help you control your blood sugar, you must eat small amounts 4-5 times a day with lots of fruits & veggie, no sweets at all.Last but not lest go see your Doctor. *****only you can do it*******
