Ya, I know, Italian and Spanish. However, give me your ideas on pizza toppings, side dishes and sangria recipes.

I like to keep pizzas simple. My personal favorite is nothing more than a nice fresh-tasting tomato sauce and slices of fresh (water-packed) mozzarella, with a sprinkling of fresh basil as it comes off the grill (pizza Margherita). But my husband and I also love pizza bianca, which has no tomato sauce at all; just brush your crust with a good extra-virgin olive oil to which you've added one pressed garlic clove; sprinkle lightly with chopped rosemary; add shredded mozzarella, fontina or a combination; top with prosciutto, torn or cut into strips; sprinkle with a little Parmesan after grilling. This one's "sophisticated" (for a pizza) and everyone loves it.

Sangria: equal parts red wine (doesn't need to be your best bottle) and freshly squeezed orange juice; add a couple tablespoons of sugar; let it sit in the fridge for at least a couple of hours--this is key! When ready to serve, add orange slices (I strongly believe no citrus except oranges belongs in sangria) and stir in ehough club soda to make it slightly effervescent without diluting it very much. You can add a little Grand Marnier for an extra kick--optional. Serve over ice, of course.

Big lightly-dressed green salad. What more could you want? Wish I was coming. :)

Shitake or Portabella mushrooms
Crumbled Feta Cheese
Fresh Mozzarella
Sliced olives
Sun dried tomatoes
Proschuttio or Panchetta
Pepperoni
Pineapple
Ham
Green Bell Peppers
Onions

For a side dish....Just do a simple Mandarin or Strawberry Spinach salad with a light tangy vinaigrette.

Baby spinach leaves
Sliced almonds or walnuts
Canned Mandarin oranges or Sliced strawberries
Drizzle a Citrus or Blueberry/strawberry vinaigrette and toss to coat. You can find store bought if you do not feel like making your own.

Hello from Spain! There's no problem by mixing both Italian and Spanish! we eat pizzas and drink beer, coke, wine... but the best drink is the Italian wine called Lambrusco. Pizza nice toppings:tasty vegetables, olive oil and oregan, or 'exotic' pizzas with banana and pineapple! Pizzas presented in very big dishes cut in 6 parts and every one taking their preferred ones...I don't recommend you Sangria, it's too sweet, it's better wine, and if it's too expensive, mix it with soda and orange juice or other juice, don't mix with more alcohol! hope it helps!;)

Use fontina cheese, gorgonzola cheese, and red grapes on the pizza; nice w/ sangria!! For the wine, use a nice fruity red; slice oranges, limes and 2 colors of apples. Let it sit for at least a day b4 you serve it. Sounds like a gfeat party, btw,....

pizza: top the pizza with similar ingredients as salsa.... eg: corn niblets, tomatoes, onion, garlic, cilantro then add goat cheese... you can brush the dough first with herbed oil and vinegar or regular tomato sauce

sangria: a bottle of dry white wine+a bottle of sweeter wine, red or white+cut up oranges and lemons and lots of ice in a large pitcher

Side dishes: sour cream, tortilla chips salsa
and on the Italian side: use thick meaty spaghetti sauce as a tortilla dip

the piece de resistance will have to be a lovely antipasto tray

Match the themes by offering Spanish, Mexican and Southwest ingredients for the pizza.

Do an experiment and see if sangria can be made with an Italian wine, such as Chianti. Use some empty bottles of this wine with candles stuck in them for table decorations.

Checkered tablecloths with cheap straw cowboy hats as centerpieces. Red, white and green hatbands?

Sounds like a fun party.

Peach sangria is really good. All you need is some white wine (white zinfindel is ok), peach schnapps, peach nectar (6-8 oz cans). Mix to taste and add lots of ice. How much of each really depends on how you like it. I usually throw in some cherries and cut up peaches in mine because I like it sweet.

Chicken (cook chicken first!) and pineapple pizza with BBQ sauce is good. Taco fixings for taco pizzas....really in a build your own you can't go wrong with a number of different combos.

Mushroom, onions, green peppers, pepperoni, banana pepper rings, ham, and pineapple for toppings. Slice very thin if you are grilling pizza. Have lots of mozzarella and parm on hand and some fresh basil for tearing on top after cooking. Basil will become black and ugly if you cook it. Consider making dessert pizzas as well as entree pizzas. Let your imagination run wild.

I make Grilled pizza often and generally use fresh mozzerella, basil and tomatos. Roll the dough out thin and cook over a very low heat. Have fun
