I'd been having what I found out are PVC's & PAC's, which was bad enough to hear. But when I went to the cardiologist's office the day he told me that (in regard to an event monitor I used), he did an ekg in the office and said it was abnormal. I requested a copy of the ekg & his notes, which just say "non-specific ST-T wave abnormalities", and also said that I should not worry about it. I had an echocardiogram and an echo stress test, both of which were completely normal and looked good. But, the abnormal ekg is really bothering me. According to him, every ekg he's seen (& I've had multiple ekg's over the last 7 months) has shown some degree of this non-specific ST-T wave abnormality. What I want to know is, is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY AT ALL that this "abnormality" will resolve itself? I've been told that anxiety can cause it, & supposedly I have panic & anxiety disorder. Also, what causes these abnormalities? Do they increase risk of death from cardiac causes??????????????????????????

Since they are "non-specific" please don't bother at all. It is as good as NAD (nothing abnormal detected). Of course, do remain in medical supervision and follow all the directions given by the doctors regarding food, exercise, if any, very strictly and with very good discipline.

The non-specific ST and T wave abnormalities are just that NON-SPECIFIC, and usually indicate nothing of concern, especially in a young otherwise healthy adult.

I just had an abnormal ST abnormality result, It is an indicator something is not right!! I was healthy nearly 4 years ago. I am 40 years old, I weigh now 90 pounds. I was just diagnosed with " Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome', anything abnormal in a ECG needs to be furthered checked into, I was told countless times nothing was wrong with me, until both my lungs collapsed, this even baffled the doctors and specialists/ tech's, I do not fit the medical profile of someone whose lungs would have collapsed, I am not male. I am not tall and I have not had an injury to my lungs. I had gone to the ER 3 times in 3 weeks for a very high sudden fever, I was told " I was just backed up", They did a x-ray nothing showed up, I was sent home, 3 days later I was finally hospitalized my right lung was fully collapsed. My vitals extremely low, I could not breath but a few shallow breaths in between the pain. The paramedics literally put me on one of our kitchen chairs and took me out to the ambulance. Suddenly I was being told there was no time to go to the Operating room, They inserted the tube into my lung right there in the ER room. I do not know how I got through the night before going to the hospital, I remember just going to bed, I had felt better mild backpain and some syncope feeling like an aura hours before going to bed. 5 minutes later, I started having more then severe chest pain on my left side and leg pain which crippled my ability to walk move talk, breath, Like i said and i was told at first, Your just backed up, here's some diuretics, go home, so I crawled into the bathroom to take my medication and a dump, i crawled back into bed, I do not remember feeling any pain, until i woke up the next morning, 2 minutes later i wrote on paper please call 911 immediately I can not breathe, luckily I listened to myself and my body I nearly died, I had to have 3 surgeries in 3 weeks, both lungs would not stop collapsing, that was 3 years ago. I now have re-occurring blood bacterial infections, I am fighting a strand of bacteria that seems resistant to medication used to treat sepsis. I also have left axis deviation, enlargement of my heart, a lot of cyst's of my ovaries, a small amount of plural fluid outlining the right apex of the lung.thickening of the uterus wall, bone loss, and I had one or more septal infarct ( heart attack) and a hormone inbalance. this is just some of my recent test results. My hemi diapragm is all also elavated and my left axis is deviated. I now have been having increased memory loss, syncope spells. -please I urge you strongly to keep going back even when they tell you nothing is wrong, look what i have written here, it took them 4 years to get any answers and now the damage is just begining to show itself, worse yet my doctor wants me to asap make another appointment with them, I was just seen last week, and 3 weeks before that, i was supposed to go back in 3 months (2015), I had a cancer screening done. scarier yet they still have not found the acute disease reason why this has been going on, I do not know your symptoms or what else your test results were such as levels.

Non specific st segment changes is seen on any computer readout of an ekg with anything even slightly normal.

It's the manufacuter's way of covering their butt in case of a lawsuit.
