Excessive consumption of sweets does not, per se, lead to diabetes. It is the obesity that can come from that overconsumption that leads to diabetes. Diabetes (specifically type 2) is what happens when your body stops responding to insulin. Normally insulin is released in the digestive process so that your body can use the glucose and other simple sugars and nutrients that food breaks down into as a source of energy. Insulin works by allowing those various nutrients and sugars into the cells. In diabetes, your body cells have become unable to respond to insulin, and so the increased sugar stays in your bloodstream while your cells starve. Then you may see a situation where your body starts to burn muscle for energy, which can lead to a problem called ketoacidosis. If prolonged, it can be serious or even fatal. It seems as if this process occurs in stages, since many obese people have what is known as insulin resistance, which is intermediate between "normal" and diabetes. Weight loss and proper attention to diet if you have insulin resistance can prevent the onset of diabetes.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

No, type 1 diabetes is cause by the auto destruction by antibodies of the cells in the pancreas that produces insulin. we don't know why the body does that. sometimes its linked to heredity, stress or pregnancy (in some cases the diabetes doesn't goes away after the delivery).
my cousin (she was 12 at the time) thought is was linked with sweets cause my diabetes was diagnosed about 2 weeks after Easter. but its not linked, and i don't think there is anything kids can do to prevent type 1 diabetes.

It has been said that a person being obese at a young age will also tend to be obese as an adult. When one is obese, young or old, for a long period, one can develop diabetes. It's not just sweets, it's everything... eating a lot and being generally "fat."

Yes. The pancreas is not designed for refined sugar.
It is designed for natural grains that break down slowly into sugar (Complex carbohydrates). The rate at which they break down is the "Glycemic index." Slow breakdown keeps blood sugar even, and is easy on the pancreas, and keeps mood even, not too high, not too low. Whole wheat bread is good, white bread is not.
Refined sugar, in soda and many other products, causes big mood swings, and is hard on the pancreas, which can cause diabetes. In type I diabetes, the pancreas stops producing insulin.
In type II diabetes, the body becomes "Insulin resistant," and the pancreas produces more until it no longer can.
