I'm not sure, when I was up there 2 years ago, I didn't see any.
But here in Mexico City you can get "chai" now in several coffee shops, but it doesn't taste like the real thing, I don't think. - Not like it does in the train stations in India!
(If you come to MY house, you can get real "chai" I even make my own special masala for it, and drink it every day, mmmmmmm........)

Well, I'm on the west coast, deep in the heart of coffee country (starbucks was born about an hour away from my home). We have Chai, if that's what you are talking about, but it's not chai from india. I think it comes to us through nepal and tibet. Travelers brought it back. I prefer Indian Chai and I get that through the Indian groceries around here. There is Oregon Chai (it's a brand), which is good, but it's different. I don't think most people know where chai comes from.

Chai (Indian masala tea) is very popular here. Even ice creams and cold soft drinks are available now with the Chai flavor.

its just well known, not more than that
americans and rest of western countries excluding uk and south american nations generally are more interested in COFFEE and COCOA so they just dont much bother @ tea as we indians do
More on rather than drinking coffee or tea; cocoa drinking (drinking chocolate -bournevita etc) is told to be safer habbit as it make lesser effect on mind and its not that addictive too
So select your drink
