Vegatarians do not eat meat. Vegans do not eat any animal by-product, such as eggs.

There are many items that offer protein without being part of an animal, such as beans, tofu, peanut butter, etc.

Vegetarian is no meat - pork, chicken(to most), fish (to some), lamb, etc.
Vegan means that they don't eat anything that coems from animals/no animal products - aka eggs (coem from chickens), no dairy products like buttter, milk, cheese (from cows/goats), etc.
