It depends on whether you have diabetes 1 or 2. I don't know much about diabetes 1 (insulin dependant)

Yes, but not very often. I have diabetes 2 (take pills), and the medicine I take says no alchohol, but my doctor said that drinking one or two drinks once in a while (maybe once a month) doesn't hurt anything. Just keep track of carbs as usual. Plus, drink lots of water of course. Ask your doctor to be sure, because your case may be different than mine.

I assume you're referring to type 2...

The answer is yes, but until you get the disease under control, you should probably abstain from beer consumption. When you get to the point that you are properly managing your diabetes, go with a low carb choice. Michelob Ultra is probably the lowest carb option out there at 2.6 carbs/serving but it's not very tasty. Personally, I go with Miller Lite. At 3.2 carbs/serving, it's still a good low carb choice and has a much better taste.

The most important thing to remember is that YOU are in control of managing your diabetes. Good luck.

The answer would be no, the process of creating alchohol includes a large amount of sugar. Large amounts of sugar equals bad things for diabetics, since you are a new found diabetic and do not know how your body reacts to certain foods, and sugar contents it would most certainly not be wise to consume large amounts of sugar. The results could be deadly.
I grew up with my mom being diabetic. Not that you should, but if you must have a beer at least wait until you know what your sugar levels are normally and how much insulin it will take to bring you back down to a safe level, and remember whenever it spikes up like that you are doing damage to your brain...

once your diabetes is under control, you should drink a low carb beer instead of a regular beer. although, you can sub a beer for some of the food you would have eaten, but you want to get healthy. diabetes can be a brutal disease for some people. they say to control your blood sugar, but there is no proof that it reduces or lessens the onset of complications. i know people who are under tight control and who have a multitude of complications while others just eat and live healthy and have no complications after 20 years. it all depends on you and your body. but to be on the safe side until you see how your body reacts to this disease, control your blood sugar, change your habits of eating, and get plenty of exercise. drink plenty of green tea and water. do what your doctor tells you to do, and participate in your own treatment.

I love water! We have a filter system so our water tastes great. In fact I place a glass of water on my side table at night in case I wake up with a dry mouth and as soon as I get up in the morning, I head straight for a glass of water, even before having coffee or tea. In some areas I'm not too keen, as occasionally it has a real 'rusty pipe' taste to it. As well as the fact that I love it, I keep in mind you have to replace what your body loses throughout the day and night.

If you are type one and take shots.......NO.

If you are type two and take pills only .....Yes.

Should you choose to drink this is what happens.

Type1 it raises Blood sugar levels.
Type 2 Lowers blood sugar levels.
Both can be dangerous....Plus If you drink there is this nasty little condition that the doctors dont tell you about. Its called PANCREATITUS. This is when your pancreas shuts down. And its very pain full. Beer dont help this much.
