It appears that either HIV existed in very low levels in the United States in periods prior to 1981, or it may have gone extinct in the United States at times, with the present infection established in the USA about 1976. HIV in Africa likewise was at first at levels too low to be noticed. In the United States and Africa HIV was at first mostly found only in residents of large cities. The infection is now more widespread in rural areas, and has appeared in regions such as China and India, where it was previously not evident.

HIV originated in primates as far as is known. Possible ways for this virus to have originally infected humans include the hunting and eating of the original primate species; a bite would be another possible route. From this point, the virus ultimately spread to the rest of the world.

I heard that AIDS was first discovered in 1965 although they didn't have the name for it yet. It was named in 1981. Supposedly a man in africa shot a monkey and some of the infected blood got onto him. Another story is that he ate the monkey and he got infected. AIDS isn't harmful to monkeys so they didn't know the monkey was sick but then they found out that the human was sick with this disease. Back then, they didn't know what this disease was. They thought it was some sort of flu. I have never heard of anyone having sex with monkey's so I wouldn't believe that if I were you. I saw all of this information on a Tv show. I can't remember what the show was though. If you are unsure of the information, you can always google it and see for yourself. This information is not 100% because they weren't there when it happened but they are pretty sure that this is how this disease actually came around.

Yes, it was traced back to Africa . Africans males were having sex with apes . This had been going on probably as long as arabs and jews of the middle east had been having sex with sheep . The african created virus went to Haiti no telling how long ago and back in the '80's a gay airlines flight attendent had sex with a haitian that had aids and when he went back to work his flight route was to canada . When his flight ended there he went to a hotel and had sex with a canadian flight attendent and his route took him to the united states and he gave the first case of HIV to an american citizen and the rest is history . Just so you know I'm not trying to be a mean old racist , the boys in the U.S.A. that were raised on farms down in the south where I was raised , well a lot of them talked about having sex with cows while the cow was locked up in his stall . I have herd others in alabama talking about having sex with a mule and the mule defecated in there overalls. Anyway that is how aids came to America . Read it and weep . Life is stranger than fiction .

Okay, i have actually heard this from someone who was telling me this seriously. AIDS we was mutated virus that a primate had, and some of the other primates contracted it. Now, some African tribe caught a primate that had it, and after they ate it, they got it, and then humanity took place and it spread. As for how recent it is, i really don't know.
