One common symptom is acute pain in your stomach after consuming dairy products like milk, cheese and yogurt.
Lactose intolerance is caused largely by genetics, and some ethnic groups are more likely to be lactose intolerant.
It gets back to human evolution. In regions of the world where milk has been a part of the diet for thousands of years, people have evolved to handle it better than in areas where milk is less common.
For example, many Asians, especially Vietnamese and Chinese, tend to be lactose intolerant. If you are of Asian ancestry, you might need to avoid milk products entirely.
Oh ... by the way ... if you are a creationist who does not understand evolution and science ... well ... just go ahead and consume milk and believe that God is punishing you for your sin of being so stupid.

My lactose intolerance was diagnosed by the time I was 10 or so.
The main signs are excessive flatulence, bloating, and urgent bowel movements soon after consuming milk products. Generally all dairy products except yogurt do that to me. There are products with the Lactase enzyme that can help neutralize the effects, but some work better than others. Additionally, there are dairy products in the stores that lactose free. Overall, minimize dairy in your diet, and obtain calcium from other calcium rich foods or supplements.
The signs you describe with the throat burning suggest acid reflux. You might try Prilosec. Also, you could see a doctor and he could perform an upper endoscopy to see what is going on.

I have 3 kids, and each one of them is lactose intollerant, but have different reactions.
The most common one of course is the stomach ache. Next is the diahrea, then the congestion, and the headache.
The simplest way to figure out if you are lactose intolerant is to keep a daily food diary. It's a lot simpler than it sounds.
Just write down every time you eat or drink, what you had, and the time of day.
If you had any symptoms at all, even a couple of hours later, write them down.
In probably a week or less you will be able to clearly tell just what sets you off.
I used this for one of my daughters whom, it turned out, was allergic to orange coloring. The doctor had no clue on why she acted so good at times, and then turned into such a horrible child to be around.
In a short time, I could tell it was the orange coloring in the food by using the food diary and elimating all artificial foods, then introducing them one by one.
Once I found what set her off, and kept them out of her diet, I had my little girl back.
Good luck to you.

Lactose intolerance will let you experience cramps, bloating gas, nausea, canker sores, yeast infections, diarrhea and gas which may begin from after half an hour to 2 hours after eating or drinking foods containing milk or lactose. This symptoms are caused by the fermentation of lactose which leads to the formation of gases. A particular gas is methane that is usually the cause for the pain and aggressive flatulence.

The two biggest symptoms are abdominal cramping & diarrhea after dairy products are eaten. If you suspect you are lactose intolerant, cut dairy products from your diet for 2 - 3 days to see if the signs disappear. And then slowly reintroduce them.
Generally, you need a prescription for lactase-the oral enzyme that will help your body tolerate dairy products. Hope this info is what you were looking for.

The most common signs are cramping, bloating, gas and diarrhea shortly after having dairy products. Since we need the calcium if you choose not to have dairy products you should take calcium suppliments daily. If you really want the dairy the over the counter pills work fairly well. Also if you microwave milk before drinking it, it kills off the lactose.

If it hurts all the way up into your throat, what you may actually be experiencing is gastric reflux. Some foods, (the most common offfenders are chocolate, coffee and spicy foods), cause the functional sphinter between the esophagus and the stomach to malfunction and to allow gastric acids up into the esophagus, which is painful and can cause the lower esophagus to spasm.
Did you, perchance, have some Oreos with your milk?

I would go to the allergist immediately and get some testing for food allergies. It sounds like you have a sensitivity to eggs and dairy.
